KARIM RASHID, USA

Karim Rashid is an Industrial Designer, born in 1960 half egytian , half english, raised in Canada and practices in New York. His perspective and clients are global and he considers himself a pluralist doing projects ranging from products, architecture, interiors, fashion, furniture, lighting, and art. He received a bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University in Ottawa. He pursued graduate studies and worked in Milan, Italy. On his return to Canada, he worked for seven years at KAN Industrial Designers. He also designed the Babel Fashion Collection. In 1993 he opened his own practice in New York City. His clients include Issey Miyake, YSL, Umbra, Magis, Sony, Prada, Idee, Kovacs, Herman Miller, Shiseido, Edra, Copco, Frighetto, Pure Design, Giorgio Armani, Leonardo, Alessi, Totem, Nienkamper...
