San
Francisco-based industrial designer Pablo Pardo has rapidly gained
international recognition in the past 10 years, developing, producing
and marketing a series of lamps devoted to simplicity and function
in the modern world. With a Bachelor of Science from the University
of Cincinnati’s top-notch design program, Pardo has designed
products for a number of large corporations. His company was recently
awarded best lighting collection for 2004 at the International
Contemporary Furniture Show in New York.
Pablo
Pardo’s devotion to using simple materials with a simple and
useful intention, embracing technology at the highest level. His highly
recognized designs which include his first company offering 1993,the
Piccola lamp, which won a Gold Award in 1993’s ID Magazine,
and an ingenious waste paper receptacle constructed of a single piece
of die cut birch plywood which resembles a wing shape. Both
are in the permanent collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern
Art.
